Priorities Program Kit:
Instructions and Tips for Success

The PRIORITIES Program was designed so that a team of four to eight people, with access to a copier machine, can present a dynamic, positive, and effective four-week stewardship emphasis at low cost.

PRIORITIES takes your members on a journey of discovery to find God's unique calling on each life. The Sunday School lessons address four important themes:
God's purposes for all Christians, Finding God's specific purposes for me, Activities to support God's purposes, and How do I know if I am in God's will?

Pulpit messages, newsletter articles, and direct mailings all emphasis these themes in the weeks leading up to and during the program.

Here are just a few suggestions for making the PRIORITIES Program a highlight of your church year:

  • PRAY (Philippians 4:6) that the program would bring glory to the Lord. (Include it in a prayer list if you publish one; form a Prayer Team for each phase of the program.)
  • Schedule it AFTER your church budget has been set. Stewardship is NOT fundraising.
  • Put extra effort into helping your leadership catch the vision of this program.
  • Enlist the help of your Sunday School personnel (and please be polite when requesting a 4-week interruption of classes).
  • Use a mail-merge program so that the letters are addressed to EACH member (not just "Dear Friends in Christ"). If your church office doesn't have this capability, call us for help.
  • Recruit people with varieties of gifts: you'll need people willing to do copying, teaching, phone calls, stuffing envelopes, and tabulating the information from the commitment forms. Ask for assistance from those talented in music and/or chancel drama.
